The Background of Perp

What is with all this 'Perp' stuff? Perp, that's short for Perpatrator, right? So you're a criminal?

Perp is my handle on the internet. A lot of people pick up an alias they go by, and I happened to chose Perp. Well actually, I chose Perpetual. But Perpetual is so long to type (ahem) and most people abbreviated it as Perp anyway so that's what I go by. So it has nothing to do with criminal or otherwise. I just thought it was cool when I was 15 or so and it's stuck.

Before Perp I went by a few other handles, mostly on local dialup BBS's (anyone remember those?). I was Mortimoore for awhile mostly on the local WWIV boards. The nick Mortimoore came from some story I was reading in the 8th grade (?? I can't remember now). One of the reasons for losing Mortimoore as a nickname was it was too long for EFNET IRC. I also remember going by Druid and some whacked out FIDOnet alias which is long forgotten.

It's actually kind of annoying that people naturally assume the most negative meaning of a word when they first see it. C'est la vie, I suppose. So I guess I have to apologize to all those who thought I was some super-stupid criminal with a criminal handle. It's so much less sinister than that!

So What's Perp Believe In?

Anything is possible, you just have to want it bad enough.

Everything happens for a reason.

One of the greatest satisfactions in life is showing something to someone they said you could never do.

Using your time and energy to point our flaws in people just points out your own flaw.

For every act you deliberately complete which is bad, that same negative energy will come back to act upon you.

It's better to do things the right way (as opposed to the half-assed way) because you'll have fix it anyway.
